In 2018, we awarded £3,900 towards the purchase of furniture for a charity that works with people recovering from alcohol and substance misuse in Buckinghamshire.

Organisation

DrugFAM was founded in 2006 to provide a lifeline of safe, caring and professional support to families and carers affected by someone else’s dependency on drugs or alcohol. It exists so that no family member, friend or carer has to face the challenges alone. The range of services provided include a crisis helpline, support groups, befriending, home visits and bereavement support.

Furniture project

DrugFAM required new furniture (including chairs, tables and desks) to create a welcoming and comfortable setting, especially for new clients, to help them to feel at home and engage well with support group activities. It would also to improve the facilities they can offer form group training events and install new desks  for their phone helpline.
