180 Project

A 180 Project athlete is straining as he uses a rowing machine.

In 2021, we awarded £27,000 towards a building refurbishment.

Organisation

180 Project runs a community recovery programme in Lancashire that aims to break the cycle of addition, crime, and prison to help rebuild lives whilst also aiming to reach those at risk of falling into this cycle as early as possible. It uses sport (CrossFit) combined with education, mentoring, life coaching and practical skill development to help participants recover from mental health issues and addiction. CrossFit is structured functional fitness that combines cardio, gymnastics, weightlifting and mobility.

REFURBISHMENT PROJECT

The charity was operating from a run-down unit that offered a gym facility. The premises required renovation to create the space for multiple groups to work-out at the same time, as well as a café and kitchen area to create a community setting. The Foundation awarded a grant of £27,000 towards the renovation, which covered the cost of the total budget.

"A big part of the 180 Project is the camaraderie; everyone is equal. I have never felt judge, and the 180 team have pushed me and encouraged me to be the best me from teh start. Thank you, 180 Project!"
