In 2016 we awarded a grant of £2,600 towards purchasing kitchen equipment for an over 60s lunch club in Northern Ireland.

Organisation

Greysteel Community Association runs a community centre providing social, physical and learning activities for the local community in an area of high deprivation. GCA has a particular focus on older in the community, providing a befriending service, home and garden maintenance for older people,  armchair aerobics and an over 60s lunch club.

Kitchen Equipment Project

After heavy use over the years, the organisations’ kitchen equipment was worn out and in need of replacement. The lunch club provides for 25-30 people a week and the kitchen delivers meals to more people who can’t come in to the centre. This small but necessary project enabled them to continue to ensure that older members of the community have at least one hot meal each week. We awarded a grant of £2,600.
