The Gap Project
In 2017 we awarded a grant of £3,000 towards the purchase of furniture for a community café supporting people at risk of homelessness.
Organisation
The Gap Project provides a range of services to support the needs of the local community in Thanet, Kent. The Gap Café is used by the whole community as a hub of activity, a drop-in spot for homeless people and acts as an important source of income for the project which includes hot meals and laundry services for homeless people.
Café furniture project
The Gap café is a hub for local community groups, is open to the public during the day and serves homeless people in the evening. Following extensive use over the previous five years the furniture had been well worn and in some cases broken. The organisation needed new tables and chairs to restore the cafés welcoming image. We awarded a grant of £3,000.
