4Sight
In 2017, a grant of £15,000 was awarded towards the refurbishment of premises in West Sussex.
The Organisation
4Sight provides vital information, advice, and practical support to improve health and well-being, promote independence, and prevent social isolation of people with sight loss. Services offered include assisted technology support, accessible media and transcription services, low vision assessments, an audio library, and rehabilitation kitchen skills. It also provides support at the point of diagnosis through hospital-based sight-care advisers.
The Capital Project
The organisation’s offices were located in mock Tudor premises that had previously been used a private residence. It was clear that the space within the building could be better utilised to improve services to 4Sight’s members and also to improve partnerships with other local charities and community organisations. This would include turning a large disused space into a function room, and to reorganise ground floor areas to be more accessible to their members. At the time of application, the charity had yet to raise other funds towards the total project cost of £28,000. A grant of £15,000 was awarded.
